A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle that started in Southfield early Friday morning ended in Detroit with the arrest of a 19-year-old Warren man, officials said.

According to the Southfield Police Department, the incident unfolded at around 3:30 a.m. when a Southfield officer on patrol spotted a 2021 Dodge Challenger near Eight Mile Road and Northland Drive that had been reported as stolen just 30 minutes earlier. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled and the police pursuit began. Southfield officers ended the pursuit at Lahser and Bennett streets in Detroit, and the suspect subsequently crashed into a 2010 Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Lahser Road and Grand River Avenue, police said.
