The Mt. Hope High School girls' volleyball team expected a tussle with visiting Bay View in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 Division II playoffs, and the locals got just that in a 3-1 victory.

The teams traded wins in the first two sets before the Huskies closed things out by the scores of 25-16, 18-25, 25-20 and 25-16 in the match played at Fitzgerald Gym.

Margaret Thorp led the hitting attack for the locals with 13 kills. She also had five digs. Sarah Wilcox had 15 digs from her libero spot and served for three aces. Lillian Konz had eight kills and six blocks.

"We're just taking it one match at a time," said MHHS head coach Lisa Lunney. "We're regrouping. We're finding our fire again."
