Coventry South MP Zarah Sultana has said we live in ‘wild times’ and has spoken of her hopes that a new political party could one day lead the UK.

Ms Sultana left the Labour Party earlier this year to join former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in creating a new party. Currently known as Your Party, Ms Sultana, who has represented Coventry South since 2019, spoke of her hopes for a permanent name when she appeared on BBC ’s Political Thinking with Nick Robinson.

She said: “I have been advocating for it to be called The Left or The Left Party because it is what it says on the tin. I haven’t got any insider knowledge in terms of internal polls with members but I don’t think they will go for The Left Party despite my strong advocacy for it and I will obviously go for what the members' d
