ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) - A man identified earlier this week as a person of interest in a campus shooting investigation at South Carolina State University was arrested Thursday.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said 19-year-old Jamarion Jabari Jones, of Abbeville, is charged with carrying a weapon on school property.
According to a warrant released by SLED, Jones was reportedly seen on surveillance footage on Oct. 4 carrying “an assault style firearm” at Hugine Suites. The warrant also notes he stored the gun inside a bookbag.
Jones allegedly admitted he was the person in the footage when asked by SLED agents.
