When Bill Marshall of Elmwood Drive was leaving for work a little before 6 a.m. on Thursday, October, 30, he noticed the bottom panel of his storm door had been broken in. As he worked to snap it back in place, he saw why.

The decapitated head of a fawn had been thrown at his door with enough force to damage it.

Marshall thinks he knows why.

He is not in favor of the town’s recently enacted policy allowing bow hunting for deer. As an abutter to one of the four town-owned areas where such hunting is permitted, he has hunters trespassing on his property on a regular basis, and sees the results of successful hunts.

“I like watching deer, not killing them,” Marshall said. “They drag them right out in front of my house.”
