A skull and other human remains found last year in the 6200 block of Helbig Road have been identified as Robert Wayne Bodmer, 44, according to Beaumont Police.

Bodmer was listed as missing out of Jasper County. Next of kin has been notified.

No cause of death is listed.

Beaumont Police exhumed the human remains Saturday, December 7 after a man reported finding a skull in that same area but kept it at home and didn't reveal that fact until more than a month later.

Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis tells KFDM his office developed information Friday. December 6 that the man had a skull at his residence north of Kountze. They contacted him, went to his home, and he showed them the skull. He said he found it October 29 in Beaumont.
