CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — A 39-year-old Mount Clare man will serve prison time for a credit card crime.

Harrison Circuit Judge D. Andrew McMunn sentenced Phillip Shane Poling to 1 to 10 years in prison, with credit for 40 days served.

Poling pleaded guilty in September to forgery of a credit card.

State Police Senior Trooper Isaiah Bowman investigated.

Assistant Prosecutor James Armstrong had the case for Prosecutor Rachel Romano's office. Alex Harclerode was Poling's lawyer.

Poling was charged back in 2024.

He ran up nearly $1,400 worth of charges on the credit card, many for DoorDash service, Bowman alleged.
