FARGO — Sanford Health is helping its smallest patients get festive this Halloween.
Several children in the NICU and micro-preemie units were dressed up in costumes for the holiday.
Twins dressed as UPS and USPS drivers, baby Home Depot workers, and a mom and baby piglet and Tigger were among the cute outfits.
Sanford has dressed the little ones up for Halloween several times in the past, and staff say they enjoy helping families experience a little normalcy while their child is in the hospital.
"It is super exciting just to be able to celebrate the families to do something that is normal for them. So we did do a costume-making party with our families, and we had several families come out and just get to bond together," said Melissa Swenson, child life specialist at Sanford Health.
