A 15-year-old boy was gunned down in a drive-by shooting on the city’s Near West Side Friday afternoon.
The teen was on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of West Grenshaw Street in the Little Italy/UIC neighborhood at 4:15 p.m. when someone pulled up in an unknown vehicle and opened fire, striking him in the chest and leg, according to Chicago police.
The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital where was pronounced dead, police said.
No one was in custody as of 6 p.m. Friday as Belmont area detectives investigated.
