LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Councilman JP Lyninger, D-6, wants to ban law enforcement officers from using masks to conceal their identities.

An amendment to Louisville Metro's current mask ordinance would clarify there are no exceptions for law enforcement agencies, according to the release. This comes after reports of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents regularly wearing masks while engaged in enforcement activities like immigration raids, according to the release.

Mayor Craig Greenberg in 2024 announced his administration would enforce Louisville's mask ordinance when people wear masks while committing a crime.
