SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Fire crews from the Spokane Valley and Spokane fire departments contained a house fire to the attic Friday morning with no injuries reported, according to the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
At approximately 10:35 a.m., fire officials began receiving multiple calls reporting flames and smoke on the roof of a home near the intersection of South Coleman Road and East 9th Avenue.
According to SVFD, upon arrival, crews deployed hose lines and attacked the attic fire, completing a primary search within 10 minutes.
Two dogs found inside were moved to an unaffected laundry room.
The fire was knocked down by 10:58 a.m.
SVFD said a neighbor is caring for the dogs while officials work to contact the homeowner, according to the fire department.
The Red Cross was notified
