MADISON (WKOW) -- Gov. Tony Evers vetoed a bill that would have required most of the state's 30,000 workers to spend 80 percent of their work hours in physical offices starting Dec. 31, 2025.

Evers said he opposes the Legislature's encroachment on the executive branch and state government agencies' ability to develop telework policies that best serve the needs of Wisconsinites.

"The bill takes a one-size-fits-all approach to state government that would jeopardize the efficiencies and savings realized under my administration's ongoing real estate and workplace consolidation projects," Evers said.
