GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — More than 90,000 Gwinnett County residents who rely on SNAP will temporarily lose access to a life-saving safety net, according to the Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners.

In response, Gwinnett County leaders are using funds from their summer meals programs and other sources to help food-insecure residents in November.

"We'll purchase high-demand food items, hygiene items, and essentials like soup, flour, peanut butter, dish detergent, trash bags, and more," Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson said.

The money and items will be distributed among the following six partners:

Lawrenceville Co-Op

Duluth Co-op

North Gwinnett Co-Op

Southeast Gwinnett Co-Op

Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries in Norcross-Lilburn Co-Op
