On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Claire Dimock Children’s Centre (CDCC) hosted a scary afternoon at the facility. The event had the staff working for a couple of weeks to decorate the children’s centre for Halloween.
Kathy Melis, Claire Dimock Children’s Centre executive director, says the event was highly successful.

She says they had more than 200 people attended the event including over 113 children up to 12 years old. The centre had a dozen student volunteers including 10 from Elliot Lake Secondary School helping to increase the scary factor by popping up unexpectedly in the gymnasium.
Melis says they are thrilled with the event.
“We had so much fun. We had feedback from the parents and said they want to do it again, they were really excited.
