NEW YORK − Long live the queen!
Heidi Klum, the supermodel and TV host who has become the celebrity face of Halloween, dazzled again on Friday night.
The "Project Runway" star, 52, showed up to her annual "Heidi-ween" party as a scaly, green version of Medusa. Klum was joined by her husband Tom Kaulitz, who dressed as gray concrete statue of a soldier with a shield, turning to stone in her gaze.
"I wanted to be super scary and I think we nailed it," Klum told USA TODAY alongside Kaulitz. "We love a challenge because a lot of people have done Medusa. And I wanted to really step it up."
As for Kaulitz, the Tokio Hotel guitarist gave new meaning to rock with his stone statue costume. Kaulitz said that he and Klum "started the same time today" in the makeup chair.
"We started at noon, so here we go," he continued with a laugh.
In an interview on Thursday after she lit the Empire State Building, Klum teased that the couple would once again dress "within the same theme," as they have done since they began dating in 2018. The couple, who married in 2019, dressed up as different versions of the movie alien E.T. in 2024. When Klum wore her infamous worm costume in 2022, Kaulitz showed up alongside her as a fisherman.
"I'd always wanted to do Fiona and Shrek, but I didn't find a Shrek who wanted to do it with me," Klum told USA TODAY of what eventually became her and Kaulitz's 2018 costumes. "And then when I met my husband, he was like, 'OK, I'll be Shrek.'"
Klum said that she looked forward to welcoming friends and family from across the world to the Hard Rock Hotel in Manhattan, which was the venue for this year's party, her 24th annual event.
"I want to see great costumes," Klum said. "I want to be inspired with what they're wearing. And it's amazing what people come up with, you know?"
As for what she hoped of Friday night, Klum immediatley turned her gaze again to her husband and said she hoped that he still found her "hot." When Kaulitz replied "absolutely," Klum started to elaborate.
"I'm hoping for, you know," she said, letting out a laugh.
"A fun after party," Kaulitz interjected.
