TRINITY, Ala. (WHNT) — The West Morgan Rebels extended the state's longest regular season win streak with a 13-7 win over Deshler Thursday.
The Rebels struck early with a MacCari Johnson six-yard touchdown run after receiving the opening kickoff.
West Morgan's defense held the Tigers scoreless in the first, and Kylen Stover picked off Price Thornton, which led to a short touchdown run from Asher Fletcher to make it 13-0 heading to the break.
Deshler was able to get on the board in the third quarter with a touchdown run from Gunn, but the hero for the Rebels was Jordan Taylor, who sacked Thornton on Deshler's final drive to seal the win for West Morgan.
The win marked the third straight region championship for West Morgan. The Rebels will host Randolph next week in the first round of th
