Irvin High School stayed in the hunt for a playoff spot in District 1-4A, Division 1 with a 35-20 win at Fabens.

The Rockets led 14-13 at the half. Irvin quarterback Dallas Medina threw a pair of touchdown passes and Fabens quarterback Jesus Martinez countered with a touchdown run and a touchdown pass. The Wildcats had a point after attempt blockerd.

After Fabens took a 20-14 lead, the Rockets scored 21 unanswered points to earn the win. Irvin is now 4-5 overall and 4-3 in district. Medina finished with three TD passes and a rushing score and Angel Valenzuela scored on a 59-yard run.

Fabens had a chance to clinch a playoff berth with a win on Friday but instead falls to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in district.
