A person is dead following a fire at a multi-residential building in San Francisco Friday night, the fire department said.

The fire department said the incident took place in the area of Filbert and Franklin streets just before 9:30 p.m. Firefighters found a body on the third floor of the building, according to authorities.

Officials report another person suffered minor injuries as a result of the fire, and two dogs were rescued. Authorities add the fire is under investigation.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
