Shreyas Iyer is recovering steadily from his spleen injury and has been discharged from a hospital in Sydney, the Indian Cricket Board confirmed on Saturday, November 1. The middle-order batter, who was undergoing treatment for a laceration on his spleen, will remain in Sydney for follow-up consultations before returning to India once he is declared fit to fly.

The BCCI expressed gratitude to Dr. Kouroush Haghigi and his team in Sydney, along with Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala in India, for ensuring that Iyer received the best possible medical care. The board also confirmed that the cricketer had undergone a minor surgical procedure to repair the laceration on his spleen.
