David Klemmer’s time in the NRL is over after the former Kangaroos Test prop inked a two-year deal to move to St Helens in the English Super League.

Off contract after a brief stint with St George Illawarra this year, the front-rower seemed destined to continue his illustrious career in Newcastle Rugby League (NEWRL).

It’s understood the 31-year-old initially agreed to play with Lakes United for the next two seasons.

However, a new door of opportunity opened.

“On Saturday 19 October, David met with Lakes United officials and signed a deal for 2026 and 2027,” the Seagulls said in a statement.
