PASADENA—The Halloween edition of the annual Turkey Tussle rivalry between Muir and Pasadena had plenty of tricks, treats and surprises. Pasadena was thought to be just a tune-up for Muir ahead of next week’s CIF Southern Section playoffs. The Bulldogs, though, gave Muir quite the holiday scare as the Mustangs held on to win 28-20 in a thrilling Pacific League finale on Friday night at the Rose Bowl.
With the win, Muir (9-1, 7-0) captures its second straight league championship. The Mustangs will learn on Sunday who they’ll play and in what division. Pasadena (6-4, 5-2) will also head to the playoffs after winning Division 13 last year. The Bulldogs are much improved overall and will likely be placed a few divisions higher.
