Holy Spirit earned its third straight win in thrilling fashion as it defeated St. Augustine 28-27 in overtime in Richland.
St. Augustine (5-3) struck first in the extra period when Ty McLeer took a five-yard run to the house to give his team a 27-20 advantage. However, Holy Spirit (6-3) struck last when Ty Costabile hit Emanuel Gerena for a 25-yard touchdown pass, and the duo followed it up with a two-yard conversion for the victory.
Holy Spirit took a 20-7 lead in the third quarter following a 19-yard touchdown pass from Costabile to Dylan Granzow, but St. Augustine battled back with back-to-back scores in the fourth to send the game into overtime tied at 20.
Costabile finished 14-for-26 for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
Gerena had seven catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He
