A woman's body was discovered inside a home in Kearsley, New South Wales, on Friday night, following reports of a suspected domestic violence incident. Police responded to the call on Ellalong Street around 7:30 p.m. and found the body of a woman believed to be in her 30s. The identity of the woman has not yet been confirmed.
Upon arrival, officers encountered what they described as a "confronting scene." They quickly established a crime scene and are treating the death as suspicious. Forensic specialists and the homicide squad from the state crime command remained at the location throughout the night to gather evidence.
Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time. Authorities are actively searching for the individual believed to be responsible for her death. Reports indicate that the woman was the only person found at the residence when police arrived.
If her death is determined to be a result of domestic violence, she would mark the 58th woman to die from such violence in Australia this year. Authorities are urging anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Additionally, support is available through Australia’s domestic violence hotline at 1800RESPECT, which can be reached at 1800 737 732. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
