The battle for the 2025 NASCAR Cup series is down to four drivers, two teams and one race.
William Byron, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe will compete for the title after qualifying for the NASCAR Championship race at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 2. Byron and Larson will represent Hendrick Motorsports, while Hamlin and Briscoe give Joe Gibbs Racing two chances at a championship after each driver got through the NASCAR playoffs. They will race against one another and a full field of cars, with the winner among the four raising the Bill France Trophy as this year's champion.
These are worthy participants. Hamlin has the most wins in 2025, and Briscoe has the most pole positions and top-five finishes. Byron led the most laps this year and Larson had the second-most top 10s and the second-most laps led. Larson is the only one of the four drivers to have previously won a Cup Series championship. Byron is attempting to become the first driver since Jimmie Johnson in 2013 to win the Daytona 500 and NASCAR Cup Series in the same year.
