BRUNSWICK, Ohio – It was really interesting to hear the Waite family history at the last meeting of the year for the Brunswick Area Historical Society. Harold and Andrew Waite, the fourth and fifth generations of Waites in the funeral business, had lots of interesting information about the family who has been in the funeral business for 123 years.

The first of the family came when the family’s name was spelled Wait and, Harold noted, had several other spellings along the way. They have traced their roots back to 1566 in England. The first Wait to settle here, came first to Hinckley. Now branches can be found all around Medina County.

Harold said he has been the assigned family keeper of the huge amount of material his father and grandfather collected about the Waites.
