CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A woman is dead after a shooting overnight in north Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call to assist Medic on the 6100 block of Old Plank Road. When they arrived, they found a woman injured from a gunshot wound.

CMPD said she was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
