MATHEWS COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) -- A 21-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after a person reportedly awoke to him loading a firearm in their bedroom, according to the Mathews County Sheriff's Office.
On Oct. 27, deputies responded to the Susan area of Mathews County in reference to a call of an assault and battery and the brandishing of a firearm.
Deputies say the victim had awoken to a man in their bedroom who was loading a firearm.
On Oct. 28, Parker Todd Smith was arrested and charged with assault and battery, brandishing a firearm and breaking and entering with intent to perform a misdemeanor. An emergency protective order accompanied the charges.
