Bozeman’s Sunset Hills Cemetery is no exception. As the city’s oldest burial ground and one still in active use, it tells the story of Bozeman’s growth, its people, and its enduring sense of place.
Located on Bozeman’s east side, the entrance to Sunset Hills lies at the south end of Lindley Park off Buttonwood Avenue. Today, the cemetery encompasses 73 acres and contains more than 16,000 burial sites. Owned and managed by the City of Bozeman, it remains both a peaceful resting place and a vital part of the community’s historical landscape.
