CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in northwest Charlotte. The incident was one of at least three shootings overnight.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Old Plank Road near Brookshire Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was transported to the hospital by MEDIC, where she was later pronounced dead.
