NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — The mayor of North Tonawanda will be decided in the coming days, with the current Mayor, Austin Tylec, facing off against the city's former police chief, Tom Krantz.

Late in the race, two mailers from the New York Republican State Committee (NYRSC) are warning of a city-wide reassessment, but one isn't happening.

The mailers were delivered to North Tonawanda residents over the past 10 days, one with the words "PROPERTY REASSESSMENT NOTICE" on it, and the other simply "property reassessment a political trick to raise taxes without telling you."
