KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — The end of construction season nears as fall temperatures drop.

But developers are already prepping for next spring’s biggest projects.

Across Kalamazoo County, planning commissioners reviewed plans for new housing developments, growing businesses and energy projects that will shape the future of their communities.

Below are five items that crossed planner’s desks in October.

1. Replacing PNC Bank with apartments

Developers want to bring a four-story apartment building to the corner of Portage Road and East Centre Avenue.

Grand Rapids-based Pinnacle Construction Group is calling it “CentrePoint Apartments,” per city documents.

The new building would stand where PNC Bank is currently located and the bank would be demolished.
