Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal has assured that the rule of law will prevail in the state following the murder of political activist Dularchand Yadav in Mokama. Jaiswal stated that anyone involved in the crime will face appropriate punishment. He mentioned that a detailed response would be provided once the investigation report is available, but emphasized that the administration is closely monitoring the situation and taking strict action against the culprits. "There is a rule of law in Bihar, no matter who the criminal is, they will be punished under the rule of law," he said.
Dularchand Yadav was shot dead on October 30 during a campaign event for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Mokama, known for its political strongmen, is currently in the spotlight due to this incident. The area has a history of influential figures, including Anant Kumar Singh and his brother Dilip Singh, who have been associated with controversial politics.
As the elections approach, Mokama is set for a fierce contest. The Janata Dal (United) has nominated Anant Singh, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal has fielded Veena Devi, the wife of former MP Surajbhan Singh. Both candidates hail from the Bhumihaar community, indicating a significant political rivalry in this volatile constituency.
Voting for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results expected on November 14. Additionally, bye-elections for eight seats across seven states and Union Territories will also be held on November 11. The upcoming elections are anticipated to be influenced by the recent violence in Mokama, adding to the already high stakes of the electoral battle.
