STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 15-year-old boy was shot in Sunnyside on Friday night, according to police.

The assault occurred at about 10:26 p.m. in the 1100 block of Victory Boulevard near Clove Road, according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The 15-year-old boy was shot once in the buttocks and transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. He is expected to recover from his injuries, the police spokesman said.

The suspect is described by police as a male with a dark complexion wearing all-gray clothing who fled in an unknown direction.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, the police spokesman said on Saturday morning.
