New Delhi: Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has been discharged from a Sydney hospital and is recovering steadily after sustaining a spleen injury during the third ODI against Australia on October 25, 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the batter is in stable condition and responding well to treatment.

Iyer suffered a blunt abdominal blow while attempting a diving catch to dismiss Alex Carey, which resulted in a spleen laceration and internal bleeding. The injury was promptly diagnosed, and doctors successfully controlled the bleeding through a minor medical procedure.
