One person is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Brampton early Saturday morning, police say.

The crash was reported around 4:20 a.m. in the area of Queen Street and Chinguacousy Road, Peel police said on X.

The driver of one of the vehicles died of injuries sustained in the crash, police said. They did not provide any details about the victim's identity, or the nature of the collision.

Police originally said there was only one vehicle in the collision, but in an update later Saturday morning, said a second vehicle had been involved.

Police are telling drivers to expect road closures in the area Saturday morning, and to use alternate routes.
