SPENCER CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Deputies in Spencer County say a dog was taken out to a remote area, tied to a pole, and shot.
They are asking the public for help to figure out who did it.
Deputies say they were called to investigate possible animal cruelty Friday afternoon.
When they arrived to the remote area near County Road North, west of Grandview, deputies say they found the body of a red Doberman Pinscher.
They say he had been shot in the head.
Deputies say evidence at the scene suggests the dog was brought to the secluded location, tied to the pole using a new collar and leash, and then shot.
They say the Doberman appeared to be a young, yet full-sized, adult and in otherwise good shape.
Deputies say he didn’t have a microchip.
They shared photos of the collar and leash, as well
