IDUKKI: The elderly woman who killed a man by pouring acid on him in Nirappel has also died. Thankamma, a native of Kottayam Kattachira, passed away on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. On October 24, Thankamma had killed her nephew, Sukumaran, by pouring acid on him. The accused herself had suffered severe burns in the incident. After being taken into custody, she was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that Thankamma and Sukumaran had long-standing disputes related to financial transactions. She had previously filed a police complaint against Sukumaran.
