Pebble Hills' 19-14 victory over Eastlake isn't one the Spartans will put a fancy frame on and display on the front door of the locker room.
This one was covered in too much sweat, grime and grease.
"It was an ugly win, that's for sure," was how Pebble Hills quarterback Joe Fernandez explained it, and in its own way, the ugliness was beautiful.

Against their game, determined rivals from Eastlake who also never backed down, the Spartans trailed most of the night, clawed in front midway through the fourth quarter, then were almost immediately back on their heels.
That necessitated a goal-line stand, and with Eastlake situated on a first-and-goal from the Pebble Hills 5, the Spartans dug in and held the hill.
