Police arrested nine people after fireworks were fired at officers and buildings in and around the city centre.

Halloween night mayhem kicked off with yobs dangerously lobbing fireworks around Birmingham New Street Station, which would have been busy with commuters around 9pm.

At 2.15am, officers came under attack from by a group aiming fireworks at them and buildings in Bagot Street, next to the Aston Expressway.

Footage has also emerged of a yob shooting a volley of fireworks at a National Express West Midlands bus carrying passengers.

The bus was believed to be travelling in the city centre when it came under fire, with the driver bravely managing to drive away.
