Police have arrested a man after a woman was raped in Worcester on Halloween night.

Officers were called to the scene after a report of a rape on Windmere Drive at around 9.30pm on Friday, October 31.

The victim is said to be a woman in her 30s.

Police say a 23-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of rape.

He remains in police custody. Officers say they do not believe there is a wider risk to the public.

Inspector Natalie Arrowsmith from Worcester’s Crime and Vulnerability team said: “We are pleased to have quickly identified an individual and brought him into custody for further enquiries.

“The victim will continue to be supported by specially trained officers and will receive the necessary care.
