ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - About 1.4 million Georgians are wondering how they will get food on the table when Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits run out Saturday.
So in metro Atlanta, leaders are taking steps to fill the gaps.

People in Henry County waited in line to receive a box of food before sunrise on Friday morning.
“I’m disabled and handicapped, and can I tell you something? This is one of the best things that could have happened,” Ryan Porche, one of the people in line, said. “This is very needed.”
Henry County Manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews said officials expected to serve close to 1,500 people.
“Believe it or not, we pulled this off in two days,” she said. “
