Gujarat Police bust gang stealing under guise of begging; Cash, Tata Safari recovered November 01, 2025
Dahod: Police have busted a gang of beggars who stole ₹5 lakh from a trader under the pretext of seeking alms. The seven-member gang having six women and one man all hailing from Maharashtra was arrested, and officers recovered ₹5 lakh in cash and a Tata Safari worth ₹1 lakh, totaling ₹6 lakh in seized property.
The theft occurred on October 29, when six women entered a trader’s office at the Dahod grain market posing as beggars and stole ₹5 lakh from a drawer. After the trader lodged a complaint, police teams examined CCTV footage and found the suspects had fled towards Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh in a white Tata Safari.
