DICKINSON — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the man found dead in a crash southwest of Dickinson.
According to a release from the patrol, Jason Bird, 44, of South Heart, was found dead at approximately 11:03 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, when a passerby saw a crashed 2002 Ford F-150 in a ditch at the intersection of 48th Street Southwest and 122nd Avenue Southwest.
The exact time of the crash is not known, the release said.
A preliminary investigation found the truck was northbound on 122nd Avenue Southwest at an unknown speed, lost control, entered the ditch and rolled.
Bird was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries, the patrol said.
The Stark County Sheriff's Office, Dickinson Ambulance and Dickinson Rural Fire Department also responded to the crash.
