MINNEAPOLIS — One is dead and two are injured following a shooting in Dinkytown early Saturday morning.
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara, an officer reported hearing two bursts of automatic gunfire around 2:38 a.m. Officers searched the area and found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds near the corner of 13th Avenue and 5th Street. A third victim was located in a nearby alleyway behind the restaurant, Frank and Andrea.
One of the victims, who is believed to be a teen or young adult, was declared dead at the scene, according to police. The two other victims, a U of M student and a teenager, were taken to the hospital. Officials say both are expected to survive.
