BMW SUV Crashes Into Utility Pole On Route 208 In Hawthorne

A crash shut down part of Route 208 after a BMW SUV struck a utility pole in Hawthorne early, Saturday morning, Nov. 1, according to state transportation officials and photos from the scene.

As of 10:11 a.m., a downed pole was reported on NJ 208 northbound near Goffle Road, with the right lane and shoulder closed.

Traffic backups were reported into Glen Rock as crews worked to clear the scene and stabilize the area.

Motorists were advised to expect delays and use alternate routes while repairs were underway, officials said.
