If I were to say that a plot hole has been patched in the Star Wars timeline, particularly one from 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, you might laugh and say ‘which one?’

This is due, in part, to the film’s plot being all over the place tonally, and generally missing the mark for countless Star Wars fans around the world.

We’re not talking about how somehow Palpatine returned, or the hasty pushing of Finn and Poe into the background of the film.

No, we’re looking at just how the First Order managed to gather together enough funds to create the Starkiller base which is kind of the Death Star, but not really because that’s too on the nose.
