The historic underground galleries of the Lisbon aqueduct have been taken over by famous horror characters this Halloween.

Freddy Krueger, The Nun, Nosferatu and others spooked visitors during their crossing through downtown Lisbon on Friday night.

The Water Museum of Lisbon often organises special visits to this famous underground gallery, but it is usually during the day.

This novelty attracted dozens of people to have the chance to experience Halloween night in a unique setting.

The Lisbon aqueduct is one of the few buildings that survived the devastating 1755 earthquake of Lisbon.
