An 19-year-old girl was seriously injured after being attacked with a chopper in Pune’s Hinjewadi area on Saturday evening. Police said the attack happened because of a love affair dispute.

The incident took place around 4:15 pm in Sakhre Vasti, Hinjawadi. Police have detained three people — the girl’s boyfriend , his friend , and a — for their involvement in the attack.

According to police, Yogesh and the girl were in a relationship for a few years. Yogesh, who is married, wanted to marry her after his wife left him when she found out about the affair. When Yogesh learned that the girl had started seeing another man, he became angry and, along with his friends, attacked her with a chopper.
