The UK is set to be hit with winds exceeding 50mph over the next few days as the Met Office has warned of "blustery" conditions.

It comes as an area of low pressure has brought rain, wind and grey weather conditions to the UK, with several "downpours" taking place over the weekend.

On Saturday, November 1, the UK weather agency the Met Office wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter : "It's a blustery weekend courtesy of low pressure sitting near to the UK.

"As it moves closer to northwest Scotland on Sunday, a squeeze in the isobars could bring coastal gales here for a time." Content cannot be displayed without consent
