A house fire in Mississauga on Halloween night is being investigated as suspicious, Peel police say.
Just before 9 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a residential fire in the area of Mississauga and Kane roads, where they found Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services crews working to extinguish a blaze at a two-storey home, Peel police said in an email.
The house sustained heavy damage as a result. Police did not say if anyone was injured.
The attending fire inspector determined the fire to be "suspicious in nature," police said. They said the scene would be held pending an investigation conducted by Peel police's criminal investigation bureau and Ontario's Fire Marshal's office.
Police said there was no further information they could provide as of Saturday morning.
